MT. PLATA

THE BEST OF THE EXPEDITION

The Plata summit and its relatively easy access make it the perfect mountain for starting mountaineering at high altitude.

It is at 6,000 m above the sea level and of course it will open the door to the mountain world.

It can be considered as a great stepping stone for the climbing of higher mountains as Aconcagua.

Surely its summit opens the door to the world of big mountains.

TECHNICAL DIFFICULTY

Mt. Plata by the Normal Route climbing does not present any technical difficulty, meaning that the participant does not need to have any previous climbing experience on rock or ice. This route may be done just on foot.

PHYSICAL DIFFICULTY

Although Mt. Plata is a mountain of easy access and short duration, we suggest you to follow a training program adapted to the activity that you are going to do (specifically to get a good acclimatization, carrying a load in your backpack), as well as eating a balanced diet some months before the start date of the expedition.

OTHER TYPES OF DIFFICULTIES

Another difficulty is the low temperature in the mountain; such effects are reduced with a high-quality clothing and equipment.
