Activities in Mendoza

Aconcagua is located in Argentina, in a province called Mendoza. A bustling city of wide, leafy avenues, many squares to spend some time, and cosmopolitan cafes.  Mendoza is a deeply nice place called “The Land of the Sun and the Good Wine” because it is sunny most of the time, it rarely rains, and it is one of the main cities in the world that produces and exports thousands of liters of wine every year.

If you have some free days after your expedition, there are some activities you can make to enjoy Mendoza; among them Cacheuta Hot Spring Spa Day Trip, Hop-On Hop-Off Wine Tour, or a Mendoza City Tour.

Cacheuta Hot Spring Spa Day Trip:

Cacheuta is a place located in the Andes mountains beside the Mendoza River, one hour far from Mendoza city.

You’ll find infinity pools of fresh natural water shimmering on a mountainside terrace. Besides, you’ll be able to enjoy a variety of activities beside the Mendoza River, like spend the day exploring the hydrotherapy thermal circuit, waterfalls, whirlpools, bubble beds, and footbaths. Moreover, the environment is unique, so you will find yourself with a mixture of pleasant sensations, floating in a bubbling thermal bath, dipping in a pool of refreshingly cool water, and listening to the river surging below.

Lunch is included and offers a complete and varied buffet with vegetarian fare, a salad bar, Creole-style barbeque pork and chicken, lamb, sausages, and grilled vegetables.

Hop-On Hop-Off Wine Tour

Another activity you can’t miss is visiting wineries in Mendoza. As mentioned, Mendoza is one of the main cities in the world with a big production of wine. Due to that, you can’t finish your trip without visiting one of the many wineries in our province.

A cheap and convenient option is to get on the Hop-on Hop-Off Wine bus, which includes transportation to different wineries. It offers six weekly departures from Tuesday to Sunday and takes you to Lujan de Cuyo, Maipú, or Uco Valley.

There are 21 fixed stops (hotels) where you can hop on the bus at a certain time. Just make sure you are on time because the bus has a schedule for each winery.

There are three options for tickets:

– Full-day to visit up to 4 wineries: U$D 25

– Half-day morning to visit up to 2 wineries: U$D 23

– Half-day afternoon to visit also up to 2 wineries: U$D 23

In each circuit, you will be able to choose among different wineries according to your preferences. Some of them are Ruca Malen, Norton, Chandon, Tapiz, Septima, Casarena, Trivento, Trapiche, Casa Vigil, Dante Robino, Casa Petrini, Salentein and Andeluna.

There is no need to pre-book the winery visits since there is a guide on the bus that will assist you and advise you to build your experience of the winery tours.

Mendoza City Tour

You can hire a travel agency with an exclusive guide or you can take the Hop-on Hop-off bus, which is a very good option since you will get to know each important touristic point in Mendoza City and Godoy Cruz.

The bus route is divided into 20 different stops, with an audio guide available in 4 different languages – Spanish, French, English, and Portuguese. You will be given a brochure with the main attractions of each stop and a map of the City of Mendoza and Godoy Cruz. Some of the places you will visit are General San Martin Park, with a decoration design in the formal European style and considered one of the most important urban green areas of Argentina, the Founding Area, Central Park, The Wine Museum, the historic center of Alameda, among others.
